Mindful Mandala Creation with Taylor LaRocco
Saturday, March 24    2-5 p.m.

A Mandala, Sanskrit for circle, is a geometric pattern that has long since existed in nature and throughout history. Mandalas are spiritual and ritualistic symbols believed to represent the Universe and have been used in spiritual traditions to aid in focusing attention, to establish a sacred space, to aid in meditation, and as a spiritual guide. Creating mandalas is a wonderful way to artistically and mindfully express yourself while also creating a beautiful piece of art. In this beginner workshop, you will learn to create your own mandala, and you will learn to use this creative process for relaxation and mindfulness. Mandalas can be created using very simple shapes and repetition, NO EXPERIENCE OR ARTIST ABILITY NEEDED (I promise!). All materials are included in the cost of the workshop, including 8.5 x 11 wooden circle with hanger, step by step instruction manual, and examples to continue your mandala creations long after the workshop, as well as all the additional materials to make a beautifully adorned finished mandala. BIO: Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a 200Hr trained yoga teacher, and a self-taught artist.
