Lynda Lea Goodall

Hi, My Name is Lynda-Lea Goodall. I have been doing yoga for about 25 years on and off. I always felt it was quite healing both physically, mentally, spiritually but because of my faith in Jesus Christ I would pray to Him in yoga and meditate on scripture. After raising my 2 kids who are now adults I was seeking what God would have me do in this next chapter of my life. I used to be a registered nurse but did not keep up on continuing education and moved several times to different states over the years. I considered going back to school and redoing nursing school but in my heart, I realized I was more interested in helping people in a more holistic way. I saw an ad 2 years ago in a yoga magazine for teacher training in Christian yoga by an organization called, “YogaFaith” started by Michelle Thielen in Washington state. YogaFaith is accredited by the Yoga Alliance. That was important to me. Michelle believes and so do I that” we are meant to worship with our whole being and to glorify the Lord with our temples.” Mark 12:30 says to Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Yoga means to unite or yoke. “YogaFaith is the yoking together or uniting yoga, meditating on the word of God and worshiping through body movement. Yoga is not a religion in and of itself just a practice that has been incorporated into various religions. The Bible talks about postures of prayers: Kneeling in humility, standing with arms lifted high in worship and praise and thanksgiving, prostrate is a posture for submission humility and desperation and prayers of urgency. Seated postures are for seeking, and listening to God. I went through the 200-hour teacher training and Trauma Sensitive yogaFatih training and have been teaching at some churches who graciously opened their hearts and doors to let me teach faith based yoga classes.
My heart is to share Christ and yoga with people. When I was 15 I was considering taking my own life but I was invited to go on a Christian youth retreat where I heard that, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” “The wages of sin is Death but the Gift of God is Eternal life through Christ Jesus.” “For by grace you have been saved through faith And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.” So, I prayed admitting that I was and am a sinner and asked Jesus to come into my life and excepted his free gift of salvation. I have not arrived none of us have. I have much to learn about yoga and The Lord. Come practice and learn with me so together we can better seek the Lord with our whole selves.
